The ADQ 108 digitizer features 8 bit resolution and a 7 GSPS data capture rate, with 1 GSample of on board memory. The card has two host interface options, high speed USB 2.0 port or an integrated PXI Express bus for high speed data transfer. The high input bandwidth of up to 3 GHz makes the ADQ 108 ideal for broadband applications such as direct sampling of RF signals and high speed data recording. The hub of the data flow is a Virtex6 LX240T FPGA, which also is a flexible platform for implementation of customized functionality. The ADQ108 is delivered either as a cPCIe/PXIe chassis card or as a standalone Digitizer in a robust aluminum case.
The high sampling rate is achieved using SP Devices' technology for interleaving ADCs. The technology removes distortions – such as time skew, offset errors and gain errors – that are related to interleaving. Corrections are made transparently and in real time without any need for calibration signals.
Software tools for host development include C/C++, Matlab and basic program modules for Windows XP/Vista, together with SP Devices' data capture tool, ADCaptureLab.
