Overview

adqdevkit blockdiagramThe ADQ Development Kit is a tool for developing custom firmware in the FPGA of an ADQ-series digitizer. SP Devices’ digitizers are characterized by a combination of high speed and high resolution. The amount of data from the digitizer is thus very high. The most efficient way of processing the data is through a real time implementation inside the FPGA on the digitizer. The ADQ Development Kit opens the FPGA for implementation of real-time signal processing algorithms. ADQ Development Kit is available for all digitizer models.

ADQ7 Series
The ADQ7 hosts a powerful Xilinx Ultrascale XCKU060 FPGA which is made available to the user through the development kit. The kit contains a number of pre-compiled blocks that implements the fundamental data acquisition functions required for normal operation. Additional custom real-time signal processing can be inserted in specific designated user areas which are tightly integrated with the pre-compiled parts.

ADQ14 Series
The digital signal processing core of the digitizer is a powerful Xilinx Kintex 7 FPGA. The FPGA contains all infrastructure for a digitizer. There is also a several nodes in the data path where custom signal processing can be placed. The custom firmware can access the data from the ADC, the data bus to on board memory, and various host connections.

ADQ V6 Series
The digital signal processing core of the V6 digitizers is a powerful Xilinx Virtex 6 FPGA. The FPGA contains all infrastructure for a digitizer. There is also a several nodes in the data path where custom signal processing can be placed. The custom firmware can access the data from the ADC, the data bus to on board memory, and various host connections.

ADQ V5 Series
The ADQ V5 series of digitizers contains two powerful Xilinx Virtex 5 FPGAs. The first FPGA is open for custom real time signal processing functions. The second FPGA contains the infrastructure for a digitizer. There is also a several nodes in the data path where custom signal processing can be placed in this FPGA too. The custom firmware can access the data from the ADC, the data bus to on board memory, and various host connections.
