The DPS7-PCIe is a comprehensive multi-channel data acquisition system designed for precise synchronized sampling across multiple digitizers, achieving an accuracy of +/- 10 picoseconds. It features a customizable industrial PC integrated with up to 7 digitizers from Teledyne SP Devices' ADQ3-series. The system incorporates third-party hardware optimized for peak performance with these digitizers. Each unit is configured, assembled, and rigorously tested in-house to meet specific customer requirements


Configurable industrial PC

The host PC acts as the central hub for system-level configuration, control, data processing, and analysis. It is built around a high-performance motherboard, such as the ASUS Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE SE WIFI, which features seven Gen4 x16 PCIe slots. These slots can accommodate a combination of ADQ3-series digitizers, graphics processing units (GPUs) for post-processing, and solid-state disk (SSD) modules for storage.

The DPS7-PCIe supports peer-to-peer (P2P) streaming, enabling digitizers to transfer data directly to GPUs and/or SSDs with minimal involvement from the host PC. This capability is advantageous as it frees up the host CPU and RAM for other tasks.​

Each slot can support data transfer rates of up to 14 Gbytes/s. However, processing aggregate data rates that are too high can become impractical or even impossible. While system-level data transfer rates of up to 56 Gbytes/s are supported, please contact us for assistance with system configuration and feasibility studies.

The Digitizer Studio software simplifies system operation by providing stand-alone configuration, measurement, and display capabilities through a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI). Alternatively, users can employ custom software for complete customization to meet specific application needs and preferences. Both Digitizer Studio and user-developed software can run on Windows or Linux, with either operating system pre-installed prior to delivery.​

ADQ3-series digitizers

Teledyne SP Devices' ADQ3-series digitizers are high-performance, 12-bit digitizers tailored for applications demanding high-speed data acquisition. These digitizers offer sampling rates up to 10 GSPS and feature an open FPGA for custom real-time signal processing. With built-in peer-to-peer streaming to GPUs at speeds up to 14 Gbytes/s, they are optimized for OEM integration. They support a range of applications, including mass spectrometry, distributed fiber optic sensing, particle physics, radar, and more. The ADQ3-series also includes advanced firmware options and a user-friendly interface for efficient data collection and analysis. Please note that the DPS7-PCIe is incompatible with the ADQ36, as it is only available in PXIe form factor.
