Introducing the world's first 14-bit 10 GS/s digitizer
"In this issue you can read about our latest digitizer product ADQ7
which offers world-leading performance through its unique combination of
high sampling rate and vertical resolution"
Through the introduction of ADQ7, SP Devices remains committed to
delivering cutting-edge data acquisition products. The unique performance
is made possible by our patented solution for time-interleaved ADC arrays,
ADX, and we believe it
will allow our customers to explore new concepts and architectures that
have previously not been feasible. With SP Devices’ 14-bit digitizers our
customers are no longer constrained to lower vertical resolution, but can
instead enjoy exceptional dynamic range also at very high sampling rates.
ADQ7 is available in two different models:
-
ADQ7DC
is DC-coupled and offers software selectable single- and dual-channel
mode of operation with 10 GS/s (single-channel) and 5 GS/s
(dual-channel) sampling rate respectively.
-
ADQ7AC is AC-coupled and offers dual-channel mode of operation with 5
GS/s sampling rate.
ADQ7DC
is tailored for time-domain measurements such as capture of short pulses
and typical applications include LiDAR, radar, mass spectrometry,
automated test equipment (ATE), and more.
ADQ7DC
also supports Zero-IF IQ radio receivers with an instantaneous bandwidth
of remarkable 5 GHz.
ADQ7AC is optimized for direct sampling of RF signals, and typical
applications include L-band direct sampling, satellite monitoring,
semiconductor test, RF recording, and more.
Both ADQ7 models hosts a powerful Xilinx Ultrascale XCKU060
field-programmable gate array (FPGA) which is made available to the user
through an optional firmware development kit. For customer that do not
wish to develop FPGA firmware, and for customers that need to shorten
design time, there are also a number of optional application-specific
firmware packages available. These packages contains real-time signal
processing functions for advanced time-domain averaging (FWATD), data-driven pulse detection (FWPD) and software defined radio (FWSDR). All together these firmware solutions make the ADQ7 the ideal platform
for OEM integration.
To simplify integration ADQ7 will be available in a number of different
form factors:
-
MTCA.4 is frequently used in big physics and large
multi-channel installations
-
USB3 allows for compact and easy-to-use integration
-
PCIe is ideal for applications that require high data
transfer rates
-
PXIe enables flexible integration into a modular
instrument
-
10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GbE) allows for high-speed data
transfer over long distances and also offers electrical isolation
MTCA and PXIe versions of the ADQ7 support triggering via the backplane
and the MTCA version also contains built-in support for long distance
synchronization through
White Rabbit. White Rabbit provides sub-nanosecond accuracy and picoseconds precision
of synchronization for large distributed systems. It also allows for
deterministic and reliable data delivery.
A software development kit is included free of charge and supports
multiple languages including, but not limited to, C++, C#, Matlab, Python,
LabVIEW. The board can be operated under both Windows and Linux.
To reduce cost of ownership, ADQ7 comes with a 3-year warranty.
